Jenny Ivánovna

Jenny Ivánovna, mezzo-soprano, is originally from Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico.  She is a vocal performance major studying now with Dr. Stephen Morscheck. Jenny is a recipient of the TW Opera Scholarship and TW Choral Studies Scholarship. She is a member of A Cappella Choir. She began her studies at the San Juan Conservatory XXI in Matamoros, Mexico. She has performed with such ensembles such as The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra as a soloist representing her State, the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra and the Tamaulipas Symphony Orchestra. Jenny received awards from FONCA (National Fund for Culture and Arts) and CONACULTA (National Council for Culture and Arts), as one of the 22 best Opera Singers selected in Mexico.  With UNT Opera she has performed the roles of Servant in Cendrillon and Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd; she has been in the chorus of Pagliacci, The Merry Widow, and Les contes d’Hoffmann.
