Kathleen Roland-Silverstein

Kathleen Roland is a highly regarded concert soloist, well known for her interpretation of contemporary music. She has been a featured singer with many music festivals, including the Tanglewood, Songsource and Santa Fe Chamber Music Festivals, and has sung in Germany, Italy, Sweden, Cambodia, Vietnam and throughout the United States. Dr. Roland was a senior Fulbright scholar to Sweden in 2009, and is the author of Romanser: 25 Swedish Songs with Guide to Lyric Diction. Her current project is a performance guide to the songs of Jean Sibelius, for which she has received a research grant from the american Scandinavian Foundation and from Syracuse University. Dr. Roland is the current music reviewer of the Journal of Singing, assistant editor of the Opera Journal, and is on the faculty of the Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.
